INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC

Indian Music is reckoned as the oldest musical tradition in the world. It can be described as having being inaugurated with the chanting of vedic hymns. Indian Music has developed within a very complex interaction between different people of different races and cultures.

HARMONIUM:- In Indian music, the Harmonium is considered to be one of the most versatile instruments. The harmonium is used in classical, semi-classical, and devotional music. It is usually used as an accompanying instrument for vocalists in classical music. However, some musicians have begun playing the harmonium as a solo instrument. One of the largest pioneers of this style is Pandit Tulsidas Borkar of Mumbai. More and more music students are learning in this fashion. We at Partap World School provide children with Harmonium classes.

TABLA:- The Indian tabla, a two-piece percussion instrument, is the principal rhythmic accompaniment to most North Indian Classical (namely khyal) and light music. It is said to have its origin in the two-faced drum called mridangam (used in South Indian Music) and the pakhawaj (used in the accompaniment of the north Indian genres dhrupad and dhamar). This is why every instrument is truly an individual work of art.The Tabla consists of two upright drums that are played with fingers and palms. Each drum sits on a ringed base of padding. Tablas are arguably the most complex drums in the world. Each head contains three separate skins. Along with Harmonium classes we also provide children with Tabla classes.

SITAR:- The sitar is one of the most popular and charming musical instruments of Northern India. It originated from another instrument called Veena, which is mostly used in South Indian classical music. The Indian musical tradition has two branches, Hindustani from North India and Karanatak from the South. The Sitar falls into the Northern Indian category. The Sitar is generally a 6 or 7 string instrument with 11 to 13 sympathetic strings for extra resonance. It is a long, lute like instrument which has enough scope to pull bends up to 5 notes from a single fret. This is what makes the sound of the Sitar very mystical and unique.

The Sitar activity at PWS is dedicated to producing sitar players of high calibre and provides the best quality instruction in Indian Classical by, providing traditional instructions and helping them to develop a passion for music. The primary objective of this activity is to provide the best quality instruction in Indian Classical music

WESTERN MUSIC

DRUMS:- Music as whole, Drums being no exception has a powerful and positive influence on the brain. Besides being very affective source of re-creation and entertainment, it promotes connective abilities. It teaches students an incredible amount of co-ordination through various beat/rhythm patterns. Drums as an activity also helps students with Maths and Science. Students learn to count, keep a steady rhythm and how to multiply and divide, to figure out how long each note is.

Keeping this in mind we offer our students wide range of drums in the activity classes, namely-

Many children enjoy playing and learning. It’s very rare to come across a child who doesn’t get pleasure from it. MUSIC IS FOR MANY PEOPLE, ONE OF THE RICHEST HUMAN EXPERIENCES AND AMONGST THE MOST MEANINGFUL WAYS THEY CAN EXPRESS. So we here at Partap World School provide kids with intense Guitar classes, where she gets the basic knowledge about guitar and are helped to improve their skills.

We at Partap World School realize the importance of keyboard music in school level and offer our students the same as an activity.

The string section is the largest body of the standard orchestra and consists of bowed string instruments of the violin family. It normally comprises five sections : the first violins, the second violins, the viols, the cellos, and the double basses. The abbreviation “and strings” is understood thus in descriptions of instrumentation.

We at Partap World School provide our students with the best of infrastructure and instruments and also teach them to read the musical notations.

GUITARS:- We here at Partap World School love learning more than we love teaching. There is so much emphasis of literally and logical thinking (English and Math) that schools ignore vital aspects of creativity, which is essential for problem solving, critical thinking skills and higher order thinking which all relate directly to Maths and English yet have their roots in Arts and Science. There is nothing like music, playing guitar, that inspires children to “want to learn”. They naturally gravitate to its instinctive rhythm. Without music in the education program, our children will suffer immeasurably. We couldn’t agree more on how important it is to provide kids with the opportunity to be exposed and involved in music and guitar education.

KEYBOARDS:- As the name suggests, a keyboard is a board of keys different notes and affects. A key board enables a performer to play many notes at once as well as close succession.

XYLOPHONE:- The xylophone is a musical instrument in the percussion family which probably originated independently in Africa and Asia. It consists of wooden bars of various lengths that are struck by plastic, wooden, or rubber mallets. Each bar is tuned to a specific pitch of the musical scale. We here at Partap World School teach them xylophone.
