Every day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.

Matsuo Basho

“Of journeying the benefits are many: the freshness it bringeth to the heart, the seeing and hearing of marvelous things, the delight of beholding new places, the meeting of unknown friends, and the learning of high manners.”
— Gulistan, Sadi
Travel and tours are as intrinsic to the life of students and teachers at PWS as academics or co-scholastic activities.

Every year, adventure tours are organized, at the end of terms, in the school calendar. The students escorted by the members of teaching faculty are exposed to the rigors of living in the lap of nature with bare minimum dependence on the materialistic equipments that are a part and parcel of living in a city.
The tours are organized with the help of certified tour operators and complete care is taken so far as the well-being and safety of the girls and their escorting teachers is concerned. Medical aid is available and care is taken that at no time the students are left un-attended or without proper care. Sahaikas are always accompanying the girls and lady teachers are there to ensure that every girl is as safe as she would be with her mother.

The routine of these tours includes treks, camping, rock-climbing, rappelling, river-crossing etc. Apart from these educational activities like map-reading, treasure-hunt, developing Herbarium files, collection of rocks and soil etc. are also conducted.

The girls participate in these activities, with a firm belief, in the saying:

“Life is a journey that must be traveled no matter how bad the roads and accommodations.”
