Brig Kulbir Singh, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters Amritsar, visited the Ranjit Sagar Dam (RSD) site to review the training and progress of the NCC Naval Wing cadets participating in boat pulling activities as part of the ongoing Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC), including the Pre-Nau Sena Camp (Pre-NSC), being hosted at Partap World School, Pathankot.

During the visit, Brig Kulbir Singh closely observed the boat pulling exercises being undertaken by the cadets and interacted with the participating Naval Wing cadets. He appreciated their enthusiasm, discipline, teamwork, and determination while undertaking this demanding watermanship activity. The Group Commander motivated the cadets to strive for excellence and highlighted the importance of physical endurance, synchronization, leadership, and team spirit in boat pulling competitions.
The boat pulling team being trained during the Pre-Nau Sena Camp holds special significance as it is being developed and shortlisted for participation in the prestigious All India Nau Sena Camp (AINSC) 2026. The Pre-NSC serves as a crucial selection platform where promising Naval Wing cadets are identified and groomed to represent the Directorate at the national level. The selected team will have the opportunity to compete against the best NCC Naval Wing cadets from across the country at AINSC, showcasing their skills in seamanship, watermanship, and boat pulling events.

Brig Kulbir Singh expressed satisfaction with the quality of training being imparted and encouraged the cadets to make the most of the opportunity to learn, compete, and develop as future leaders. He commended the efforts of the instructors and camp staff for maintaining high standards of training and ensuring a productive learning environment for the cadets.
Addressing the cadets, Brigadier Kulbir Singh said, “NCC provides an excellent platform for developing discipline, leadership, teamwork, and a spirit of national service. Activities such as boat pulling not only enhance physical fitness and endurance but also build coordination, confidence, and camaraderie among cadets. I encourage every cadet to give their best and strive for excellence. I sincerely appreciate the support extended by the District Administration, Pathankot, and the Ranjit Sagar Dam authorities, whose cooperation has been instrumental in facilitating these important watermanship training activities. I also commend Partap World School for its dedicated efforts and wholehearted support in organizing and coordinating the boat pulling training at Ranjit Sagar Dam, located nearly 30 kilometres from the main camp site. The school’s commitment and logistical support have played a significant role in ensuring the successful conduct of this important training component.”
The visit concluded with an interaction session with the cadets and training staff, further boosting the morale of the young participants as they continue their preparations for future NCC competitions and national-level camps
